Rylan Bruns

Rylan Bruns, a native of South Dakota, was born in Mitchell. Currently a senior at Black Hills State University, he is passionately pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Photography. His artistic journey is rooted in an interest in the impact of light, using high-quality digital and analog image capture techniques to showcase the identities and essences of his clientele with a unique originality for visual storytelling.

Rylan has dedicated several years to the field of conceptual and marketing photography, contributing significantly to the brand recognition of both BHSU and national businesses. Rylan’s fine artwork has been shown across the state in galleries and the Vestige Concept Gallery in Pittsburgh, PA. He is also a Society for Photographic Education member and has attended annual conferences in Denver, CO, and St. Louis, MO. In 2022, his work was recognized by the American Advertising Federation with the prestigious Judges Choice award for his photograph “Montec.” Rylan’s work is a testament to his desire to immerse his viewers into his photographs creatively.
